Taking Detoxamin

Detoxamin suppositories are solid, bullet-shaped preparations designed for easy insertion into the anus (back passage). Detoxamin is manufactured in a cocoa-butter base (melts at body temperature). It is designed to release 750 mg Calcium Disodium EDTA (Ca-EDTA) slowly, over a 60 to 80 minute period and gradually spread over the lining of the lower bowel (rectum), where it is absorbed into the bloodstream.

Due to the unique vascularization of the rectum, Ca-EDTA (a small amino-acid) absorbed straight into the systemic circulation, bypassing the liver and avoiding first pass metabolism. This means that the Ca-EDTA in Detoxamin goes directly to the organs of your body without being filtered through the liver first. This delivery route explains the effectiveness of the Detoxamin suppositories.

Since January 1, 2004, amino acids are considered to be supplements according to Health Canada's Natural Health Products Regulations. Therefore, Detoxamin is sold legally in Canada.

How to use:

1 - Take Detoxamin at night, prior to bedtime. (Or take in the morning if you wish, after evacuation.) Eat early in the evening, about 1 to 2 hours prior to bedtime, to reduce any discomfort.

2 - Go to the toilet and empty your bowels if necessary. Wash your hands.

3 - Either squat or lie on your side with one leg bent and the other straight. You could try to keep your fingers clean by using gloves or a plastic sandwich or freezer bag (turn the bag inside out for getting a smooth surface outside). If they are clean and sterile (could be rinsed with 3% hydrogen peroxide) then their use is not opposed.

4 - Remove the plastic wrapping from Detoxamin. Gently but firmly push the suppository into the rectum, FLAT end first until past the sphincter muscle. By inserting the flat end opposed to the pointed end, the suppository will travel higher up in the rectum when the two sphincters contract. If necessary, moisten the suppository with a little water. Push it in far enough so it doesn't slip out.

5 - Wash your hands again and close your legs and sit or lie still for a few minutes. Try not to empty your bowels for at least 80 minutes. A mild diarrhea and extra gas is common at the first bowel movement. (Clinical tests confirmed the effectiveness of Detoxamin in spite of the mild diarrhea and gas. Don't be surprised if your first urine, after taking the Detoxamin, might have a metallic smell in the morning, indicating the removal of toxins from your body.)

Storage: Store Detoxamin in a cool, dark place, but not in the fridge. If suppository gets warm, it may melt. Put it in the fridge for a few minutes. This would return the suppository to its original state so it may be inserted. You could cut the suppository into half if needed (e.g. for children) since the Ca-EDTA is evenly distributed in the cocoa butter.

Three boxes of Detoxamin (3 X 30 = 90) suppositories; medically equivalent to about 30 I.V. chelation treatments) are the suggested protocol before switching over to maintenance, however, it may not be enough for highly toxic individuals. You could take it every night or in less severe cases/symptoms you could take the first box of 30 suppositories every night and then switching over to every second nights.

Take proper mineral/trace mineral replacement every day (don’t take minerals 6 hours before or 3 hours after taking Detoxamin.)  Take supplementation seriously every day (no restrictions on when to take except for the minerals); especially vitamin C, a high quality multivitamin, L-Lysine and L-Proline amino acids (found in ‘Heart Plus’) and omega-3 (fish oil).
